This project involved laying natural limestone from Flat Rock, Ohio on a log cabin. The stone is rock faced and laid in gray mortar, and the joints are raked out. This house had three fireplaces all working in one massive chimney. The walls were capped with a gray limestone sill. The entrance piers were built to support the working entrance gate.
This project involved laying natural limestone from Flat Rock, OH on a house on Lake Erie. The project took approximately 9 months, from September to May. Since this masonry project was done during the winter months we built a tent around our scaffolding to provide a heated working area throughout the cold months. There is alot of detail to this house including the arched window pieces which are gray limestone, and the front entry which is also a limestone arch (weighing approximately 1000 lbs!). The veneer stone on this house was laid natural with little rock facing, laid in gray mortar, and the joints are raked out. The wing walls on the front of the house are also capped with a curved limestone cap.
